On December 11, 2023, at approximately 2:37 am, 21-year-old Kelvin Marlin Guel found himself in police custody after a high-speed pursuit through Irving.
The incident unfolded when an Irving Police Officer noticed Guel exceeding the speed limit. When the officer attempted to pull him over, Guel accelerated, initiating a pursuit. Guel's erratic driving led to his vehicle becoming disabled, forcing him to come to a stop.
Guel abandoned his vehicle and attempted to escape on foot. However, officers caught up with him after a short pursuit on foot.
Upon apprehension, officers noted that Guel exhibited clear signs of intoxication. Subsequently, Guel was transported to the Irving Jail and charged with Driving While Intoxicated (Blood), evading arrest with a vehicle, and evading arrest on foot.
As of now, no bond has been set for Guel's release.
