DART Student Art Contest: How Many Cities Can You Discover While Riding DART?

The annual Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) Student Art Contest is now open for submissions, welcoming entries from Kindergarten through 12th grade students across North Texas. The contest, running until Thursday, February 29, 2024, encourages participants to express their creativity under the theme, "Explore DART’s 13 Cities! How Many Cities Can You Discover While Riding DART?"

DART, a vital transportation network connecting North Texas, offers various modes of transit including DART Rail, buses, GoLink, TRE, Dallas Streetcar, M-Line Trolley, and Paratransit Services, serving 13 cities in the region: Addison, Carrollton, Cockrell Hill, Dallas, Farmers Branch, Garland, Glenn Heights, Highland Park, Irving, Plano, Richardson, Rowlett, and University Park.

The competition provides students with the chance to have their artwork prominently featured across DART rail stations, buses, and inside trains. Winning entries will also be showcased at esteemed locations such as the Dallas Museum of Art, Love Field Airport, and on DART's official website, DART.org.

The 2024 DART Student Art Contest expresses gratitude to its community partners: the Dallas Museum of Art, Half Price Books, the Perot Museum of Nature and Science, the Dallas Zoo, the Dallas Children’s Aquarium, the Dallas Arboretum, and Toyota. Media partners supporting the contest include the Advocate, Al Día, the Dallas Morning News, DFW Child, Local Profile, NBC 5, Plano Magazine, and Telemundo 39.
