City of Irving Offers Generous Recruitment Incentives for New Hires Extended

In an effort to attract top talent, the City of Irving has announced a recruitment drive offering substantial financial incentives to new full-time employees. The city is providing up to $3,000 for general positions and up to $5,000 for mission-critical roles to individuals hired by March 31.

Eligible new hires can expect to receive the incentives in three installments:

  • $1,000 after the first 30 days.
  • $1,000 after the first six months.
  • $1,000 after the first year.

Mission-critical positions targeted for this initiative include roles in Animal Services, Fleet Mechanics, Firefighters, Fire Prevention Specialists, Information Technology Support Specialists, Police Dispatchers, Detention Officers, Police Officers, Solid Waste Services Waste Collection Workers, and Water Utilities Utility Pumping Operators and Tech I/II.

New hires in the mission-critical category will receive a slightly adjusted incentive structure:

  • $1,666 after the first 30 days.
  • $1,667 after the first six months.
  • $1,667 after the first year.

It's important to note that these incentive payments are contingent upon maintaining good attendance and avoiding disciplinary issues.
