Irving Public Library Seeks Community Input for NEA Big Read 2024

The Irving Public Library (IPL) is gearing up for the 2024 National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Big Read and is turning to the community for book selection. Librarians at IPL have narrowed down the options to five compelling choices:

  1. Infinite Country by Patricia Engel
  2. Sitting Pretty by Rebekah Taussig
  3. The Bear by Andrew Krivak
  4. The Round House by Louise Erdrich
  5. The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri

Residents of Irving are encouraged to participate in the selection process by casting their votes for the book they'd like to see featured in the NEA Big Read. In the event of a tie, IPL librarians will take charge of the final decision.

To make an informed choice, community members can find detailed book descriptions and programming ideas in an online survey accessible through the library's website. The library is keen on engaging the public and has made paper surveys available at all Irving Public Library locations for those who prefer a traditional approach.

It is essential for participants to note that only one vote per person is allowed, and all votes will remain anonymous.
