Irving Woman Charged with Manslaughter Following Wrong-Way Fatal Crash on I-635

A 22-year-old woman has been charged with manslaughter and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after intentionally driving in the wrong direction on I-635, resulting in a deadly crash, according to the Irving Police Department.

On Friday, November 10, 2023, Diamond Brown of Irving entered the westbound lanes of I-635 while driving eastbound at speeds of approximately 88 mph. The silver 2018 Nissan Altima she was operating collided with another vehicle, claiming the life of Zainab Monsoori and inflicting severe injuries on Fatima El Adel, who suffered multiple broken bones.

Irving police report that Brown, suspected of being intoxicated at the time of the incident, informed authorities that she deliberately crashed her car in an attempt to take her own life.

Brown now faces charges of manslaughter for the fatal outcome of the crash and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
