IRVING, Texas - An Irving woman faces a felony domestic violence charge after police say she struck her live-in boyfriend with a shoe and hit him several times during an argument at an apartment complex.
Irving police responded to The Meadowbrook Heights Apartments in the 1600 block of Carl Road at approximately 5:14 a.m. Sept. 7 after receiving a 911 call reporting a domestic disturbance in progress.
Officers spoke with the complainant, who told police he had been arguing with his live-in girlfriend, 32-year-old Christa Marie Coder.
According to police, the man said the argument escalated when Coder threw a shoe that struck him in the face and caused pain. He told officers she also struck him multiple times in the chest, causing additional pain.
Officers determined Coder was the primary aggressor and arrested her on a domestic violence assault charge.
Records show Coder has previous domestic violence convictions, resulting in the new charge being enhanced to a third-degree felony.
Coder's bond was set at $15,000. She remains in custody at the Dallas County Jail.
