Irving Holds Interchange Project Ribbon Cutting Celebration

Ribbon cutting ceremony

TxDot and City of Irving gathered on May 8 to mark the near-completion of the $301 million Irving Interchange project with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting. The project, which includes the construction of thirty-two new overpasses and direct connectors, as well as widened lanes, is now open to traffic at the interchanges of SH 183, SH 114, Loop 12, and Spur 482.

One significant aspect of the project is the complete reconstruction and widening of Loop 12 from six to eight lanes for a 1.2-mile stretch starting from the south end of Union Bower Road to north of Texas Plaza Drive. Additionally, SH 114 from Loop 12 to SH 183 and Spur 482, along with their direct connectors, have been widened as part of the initiative. The reconstruction of Spur 482 from west of Century Center Boulevard to the interchange, integrating with SH 183 and Loop 12 through direct connectors, is also part of the project.

Despite the progress, drivers are advised to remain vigilant as final work is carried out over the coming months, with crews and equipment still present in these corridors.
