Dallas County has exonerated Curtis Ray Davis for a crime he did not commit. Davis was found innocent of Possession of a Controlled Substance after it was revealed that the actual perpetrator was his brother, who falsely identified himself as Davis to the police.
The Conviction Integrity Unit (CIU), led by Assistant District Attorneys Cynthia Garza and Lauren Livingston, played a pivotal role in uncovering the truth. DA Investigators Duane Glenn, Jose Ramos, and Garrick Whaley also contributed to the investigation.
Davis's exoneration marks Dallas County's 45th overall and the 33rd achieved by the CIU, demonstrating the ongoing efforts to ensure justice and accuracy in convictions.
