Irving Police responded to a call from PLS Check Cashers on February 3, 2024, reporting a man attempting to cash a forged check.
Upon arrival at 2821 N. Beltline Road, officers encountered 30-year-old Manuel Santana Jr. During a search, narcotics were discovered in Santana's pocket. Despite attempts to flee, he was apprehended.
Santana was charged with forgery of a financial instrument ($100<$750), possession of controlled substance PG 1/1-b (<1G), and escape from custody. He was transferred to Dallas County Jail on February 6th, where an additional charge was added due to a previous drug violation while on probation. His total bond was set at $110,000, but bond for the probation violation was denied, resulting in his continued incarceration.
