On Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at 9:33 pm, Irving Police Officers rushed to the Church's Chicken restaurant located in the 2500 block on N. Story Rd, near the intersection of W. Rochelle Rd, in response to a disturbance. Three officers arrived at the scene.
Upon reaching the establishment, officers discovered that a former employee had forcibly entered the premises and assaulted two current employees. Evidence of forced entry was found, with a broken door observed by the officers. The alleged perpetrator was identified as 49-year-old Franjuan Eucola Johnson, a resident of the Brandt At Las Colinas apartments in Irving.
The two victims of the assault were identified as a 55-year-old man and a 17-year-old male, both employees of the restaurant.
Johnson was promptly apprehended and charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Burglary of a Building. Additionally, it was revealed that Johnson had two outstanding warrants issued from Harris County, one for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) and another for theft.
