Early this morning, on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at around 1:00 am, an Irving Police Officer witnessed a driver disregarding a stop sign.
Upon initiating a traffic stop, the driver attempted to evade the officer. After a short pursuite, the suspect lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn. Despite the crash, the driver, identified as 34-year-old Edward Florentine Garcia from Dallas, managed to crawl our of the vehicle and continued to flee on foot. Irving Officers pursued Garcia and successfully apprehended him.
Garcia faces multiple charges including evading arrest detention, evading arrest with a vehicle, as well as infractions for disregarding the stop sign, driving without a valid license, and driving without insurance. His bond has been set at $12,797.
