On January 26, 2024, at 6:32 am, Irving Police responded to a call reporting a domestic altercation in progress at the Sunrise Willowbend Apartments located at 1407 W. Shady Grove Rd in South Irving. Four Irving Police Officers were dispatched to the scene.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered that 26-year-old Fausto Navas-Paz had assaulted a 29-year-old woman inside the apartment. The victim, who revealed she was pregnant, provided information to the officers.
Navas-Paz was subsequently arrested and charged with Assault of a Pregnant Person, classified as a 3rd-degree felony, and Assault-DV, categorized as a class C misdemeanor. He was transported to the Irving Jail. While in custody, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) requested an immigration hold on Navas-Paz, who hails from Honduras.
As of now, Navas-Paz is being held at the Bluebonnet Detention Facility in Anson, Texas, and is slated for deportation.
