In the afternoon of January 5, 2024, at approximately 3:00 pm, Irving Police responded to 911 calls reporting a vehicle collision at the 1900 block of North Belt Line Road.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that an older driver had crashed into the Applebee's Restaurant. The driver, who was in and out of consciousness, required medical attention, as it was suspected that they had suffered a heart attack before the collision.
Emergency services transported the elderly driver to the hospital, where they later succumbed to their condition. Fortunately, there were no individuals seated in the section of the restaurant impacted by the collision, and no one inside the establishment suffered injuries, according to the police.
