The Irving Fire Department is calling on residents to seize the opportunity to participate in its Citizens Fire Academy (CFA), a 7-week program offering an in-depth look into the various aspects of the fire department.

Established in 2002, the CFA provides participants with hands-on experiences, including climbing the ladder truck, using the jaws of life, donning HAZMAT gear, and more. The program is open to anyone aged 18 and above residing or working in Irving, and best of all, it is free of charge.

The academy, held once a year, convenes every Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The training sessions take place at the Irving/Grand Prairie Training Facility located at 4850 N Beltline Rd and the Fire Administration at 845 W Irving Blvd.

Interested individuals are encouraged to apply and gather more information about the program by visiting www.ifdsafety.com/cfa. Don't miss this chance to gain valuable insights into the workings of the Irving Fire Department!
