Dallas Police Senior Corporal Charged With Assault, Official Oppression

DALLAS, Texas - A Dallas police senior corporal has been charged with assault causing bodily injury and official oppression after turning himself in to the Dallas County Sheriff's Office, according to the Dallas Police Department.

Senior Corporal Robert W. Huynh turned himself in on July 29. He was charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury and Official Oppression, both Class A misdemeanors.

Huynh has been a member of the Dallas Police Department since November 2018 and is currently assigned to the Northwest Patrol Division.

The department said Huynh has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation.

Officials have not released details regarding the allegations that led to the charges and said no additional information will be released at this time.

The investigation remains ongoing.
