DALLAS, Texas - A convicted murderer on parole until 2041 has been sentenced to prison after Dallas police officers discovered multiple drugs and firearms during a traffic stop in 2023.
According to prosecutors, Mackle White was convicted on charges of manufacture or delivery of cocaine, methamphetamine, and heroin, along with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
Authorities said White pleaded guilty and received 25-year prison sentences on each charge.
The case stemmed from an Oct. 3, 2023, traffic stop conducted by officers with the Dallas Police Department.
Investigators said two officers were conducting an unrelated routine traffic stop when White allegedly drove the wrong way into oncoming traffic and nearly struck a parked patrol vehicle.
Police stopped White’s vehicle and immediately observed a firearm in the cup holder and a methamphetamine pipe in his lap, according to investigators.
A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered approximately 30 grams of cocaine, 40 grams of methamphetamine, and 17 grams of black tar heroin on the driver’s floorboard.
Authorities also located a second firearm inside the vehicle.
Prosecutors said White had previously been convicted of murder and was prohibited from possessing firearms while on parole.
The case was prosecuted by William Davidson and Jui Kothare. Investigators assisting the prosecution included Tom Naulty, Bonita Morgan, and Eddie Lopez.
