An Irving woman was arrested after allegedly assaulting her boyfriend during a domestic dispute at an apartment complex Saturday night, according to the Irving Police Department.
On October 18, 2025, around 8:33 p.m., officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in progress at the Monterra Las Colinas Apartments in the 300 block of West Las Colinas Boulevard.
When officers arrived, they contacted the victim, 20-year-old Michael Palmer Burt, and the suspect, 20-year-old Breona Swatsworth. Police say the two had been in a dating relationship for about two years and currently live together.
According to the police report, Burt told officers that Swatsworth came up behind him, grabbed the collar of his shirt, and pulled him to the ground while applying pressure to his neck. Despite his repeated pleas for her to stop, he said she continued choking him, causing him pain.
During the investigation, officers discovered that Swatsworth had an active warrant for Domestic Violence Assault. She was taken into custody without further incident and booked on charges of Assault – Family Violence by Impeding Breath and the outstanding warrant.
