Arrest Made in Irving Domestic Violence Case, Grand Jury Accepts Assault Charges

On Sunday, February 4, 2024, at approximately 2:34 am, Irving Police Officers responded to a domestic violence situation at the North Oak Apartments on N. Nursery Rd near E. Grauwyler Rd in Irving. Upon arrival, officers entered the apartment and encountered a 31-year-old Hispanic female who had reported the incident. Additionally, they found 30-year-old Jose A. Calderon-Sagastume of Arlington inside the apartment.

Calderon-Sagastume was subsequently arrested and charged with Burglary of Habitation with the Intent to commit another Felony and Terroristic Threat of a Family Member. The arrest involved the participation of four police officers.

On March 28, 2024, a Dallas Grand Jury indicted Calderon-Sagastume, determining that he had entered the apartment without the owner's consent with the intent to commit a felony other than theft, specifically Aggravated Assault. The nature of the relationship between the victim and the defendant was not disclosed.

A hearing regarding the case is scheduled for May 29, 2024, where further legal proceedings will take place.
