Irving City Hall Set for Elevator Upgrades Starting April 22

Construction on the center elevator at Irving City Hall is set to commence on Monday, April 22. To ensure safety during the project, floor-to-ceiling barriers will be installed on each floor in front of the middle elevator.

The initial phase of the project is expected to last five months, involving demolition, abatement, and renovation of the existing elevator cab and hoisting equipment. Following the completion of the middle section, another elevator will undergo remediation until all three elevators are upgraded.

With a budget of $2.25 million, the project is scheduled to continue until March 2025. Visitors to City Hall should prepare for potential delays, as there will be increased traffic on the two remaining operating elevators.
