On April 18, 2024, at approximately 1:00 a.m., emergency services were dispatched to a two-vehicle collision on LBJ Freeway near Skillman Street.
According to initial reports from Dallas Police and Fire Rescue, the incident involved a woman traveling eastbound in the far right lane near the Skillman Street exit ramp. The vehicle collided with a plastic barrier after passing between two temporary construction barriers.
After the collision, the vehicle swerved back onto the freeway and came to a stop in the second-to-right lane. The driver exited her vehicle and was standing in the doorway when she was struck by a van traveling eastbound.
Tragically, the woman succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The driver of the van halted and cooperated with authorities.
The identity of the deceased will be confirmed by the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office as the investigation progresses.
