Parkland Health Named Top Kidney Transplant Center in 2026 National Rankings

DALLAS, TX - Parkland Health has solidified its reputation as a leader in organ transplantation, earning the highest possible performance marks in the latest national data release.

According to the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients (SRTR) report released on January 6, 2026, Parkland is the only kidney transplant center in Texas and one of just two programs nationwide to achieve a "five-bar" rating across all three major quality categories.

Excellence in Public Health

Parkland shares this rare national distinction with NYU Langone Health in New York, a feat that highlights the public hospital's ability to provide world-class outcomes for a highly diverse and medically complex patient population.

The SRTR's "five-bar" system (a 1-to-5 scale) evaluates centers based on:

  1. Transplant Rate: How quickly patients move from the waitlist to surgery.

  2. Waitlist Survival: The health and stability of patients while they wait for an organ.

  3. One-Year Graft Survival: The success and functionality of the kidney one year after the transplant.

“Our team continues to show that world-renowned transplant care is achievable at a public hospital serving one of the most diverse and vulnerable populations in the nation,” said Joe Lockridge, MD, Medical Director of Parkland’s Transplant Services.
