Teen Crashes Stolen Camaro During Irving Police Chase, Caught After Foot Pursuit

An 18-year-old Dallas man was arrested on May 11, 2025, after leading police on a brief high-speed pursuit in a stolen white Chevy Camaro.

At approximately 8:25 p.m., Grapevine Police notified an Irving Police officer that the Camaro had been reported stolen. The vehicle was located traveling eastbound on SH 114 near W. Rochelle Road in North Irving.

When officers attempted a traffic stop, the suspect fled at high speed. The pursuit ended shortly after when the Camaro collided with a black SUV. The suspect then fled the crash site on foot. Uniformed officers pursued and apprehended him.

The suspect was identified as Alejandro Silva, 18, of Dallas. He admitted during an interview to stealing the vehicle.

Silva was charged with Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, Evading Arrest Detention with a Vehicle, and Evading Arrest on Foot. He was booked into the Irving Jail and later transferred to Dallas County Jail, where he remains in custody. Authorities have requested a hold due to Silva being out on bond for prior charges including Theft, Criminal Trespass, and Burglary of Vehicles.
