The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred on Sunday, April 20, 2025, in the 5500 block of James Ave.
South Division officers responding to a shooting call discovered two victims with apparent gunshot wounds to their upper bodies. Both were pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel.
A third shooting victim was transported to a local hospital by a private vehicle, treated, and subsequently released.
Detectives' preliminary investigation indicates that the two deceased victims were engaged in a verbal argument that escalated to both individuals drawing handguns and shooting each other. The third victim appears to have been struck by crossfire.
Authorities also reported that a third shooter fired at one of the deceased victims while that victim was shooting at the other deceased individual. This third shooter remained at the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation. No arrests have been made at this time.
The Fort Worth Police Homicide Unit is conducting the investigation into this incident.
