Dallas Celebrates National Community Development Week with Events Highlighting Local Impact

During National Community Development Week, observed from April 21st to 25th, 2025, Dallas residents and elected officials will have the opportunity to witness the positive impact of federally funded initiatives on their local communities. Programs such as the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and the HOME Investment Partnerships Program, both supported by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Consolidated Plan, are crucial in expanding affordable housing, reducing poverty, and improving infrastructure throughout Dallas.

The weeklong celebration will showcase the transformative effects of CDBG and HOME investments on Dallas neighborhoods through various events and outreach efforts, while also advocating for continued and increased funding for these vital programs. The activities aim to engage residents, local leaders, businesses, media, and nonprofits, highlighting the enhancement of the city's physical, economic, and social landscape.
