The Dallas Police Department continues to investigate the 2016 murder of 47-year-old Joseph Darrin Paul, who was found dead from gunshot wounds in the 1900 block of Glenfield Drive in central Oak Cliff.
According to reports, residents in the nearby 1900 block of Elmwood Boulevard, east of Hampton Road, told police that shortly after 1 a.m. on May 19, 2016, they heard loud arguing followed by gunshots. Witnesses then saw a body lying in the street and two men speeding away in a silver car.
Investigators determined that Paul, who lived with his partner less than a mile from where he was killed, was approached by a man who exited the silver car and robbed him at gunpoint. Paul, unarmed and on foot, posed no threat to the gunman or the accomplice who waited in the vehicle.
Dallas police urge anyone with information about Paul’s murder to contact the Cold Case Unit at 214-671-3661 or email coldcase.dpd@dallaspolice.gov, referencing case number 119172-2016.
