On January 15, 2025, Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers were alerted to a stolen 18-wheeler truck in the Garland area. The Troopers quickly located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. However, the driver refused to stop, prompting a pursuit that stretched across several miles.

The chase came to an end on Chisholm Trail Parkway near McPherson Blvd in southwest Fort Worth, where Troopers successfully deployed spike strips, disabling the stolen truck. The driver, later identified as 28-year-old Jeffery Harris from Sapulpa, Oklahoma, exited the vehicle and surrendered to law enforcement without further incident.

Harris was arrested on charges of Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and booked into the Tarrant County Jail. Fortunately, there were no injuries or property damage as a result of the pursuit. The investigation into the stolen vehicle and the incident remains ongoing.
