On Friday morning, January 10, at 10:47 a.m., the Fort Worth Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 3900 block of Claridge Court in southwest Fort Worth. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered flames coming from the garage of a one-story home as the family and their pets evacuated safely.
Fire crews initially battled the blaze offensively for nearly 45 minutes before the Safety Officer ordered all personnel out of the structure due to the risk of collapse. This prompted the Incident Commander to initiate a “PAR” (Personal Accountability Report), ensuring all firefighters were safely outside. After confirming a “complete PAR,” crews shifted to a defensive approach to extinguish the fire.
Once the fire was under control, firefighters assisted the displaced family by recovering irreplaceable items, including photos, trophies, guitars, and violins, from inside the damaged home.
No injuries were reported among civilians or firefighters. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The American Red Cross provided immediate disaster assistance to the family.
