The Denton Fire Department responded to a fire in the 600 block of Londonderry early Thursday morning. The call came in at 6:45 a.m., with crews arriving to find heavy flames coming from a second-floor apartment.
Firefighters discovered a victim deceased in the fire-damaged apartment at 6:58 a.m. The fire was brought under control by 7:06 a.m., and a secondary search of all units was completed by 7:10 a.m. One individual was transported to a local hospital for evaluation, but the total number of displaced residents remains unknown.
Investigators are on the scene to determine the cause of the fire. Further updates are expected as the investigation continues.
