Alexis Martin

On December 29, 2024, at approximately 3:20 PM, Irving Police officers were dispatched to a shots fired call at the 2200 block of Fairfax Drive in South Irving. The call was later upgraded to a shooting call. Upon arrival, officers found 36-year-old Jessica Reecie Thomas, who was rushed to Parkland Memorial Hospital, where she later died. Her death was ruled a homicide.

That afternoon, 22-year-old Alexis Martin, a white female and a graduate of Nimitz High School, was arrested and charged with Murder. The Irving Police Department did not specify the relationship between Thomas and Martin, but both were residents of the same house. Irving Police Officer Neal arrested Martin, who was booked into the Irving Jail at 4:38 PM. She was transferred to the Dallas County Jail on December 30. Martin’s bond was set at $1 million, but it remains on hold pending the fitting of an electronic leg monitor.
