Irving Annual Christmas Tree Roundup for Recycling and Disposal

Residents looking to dispose of fresh-cut Christmas trees can participate in the annual Christmas Tree Roundup, running from December 26, 2024, through January 12, 2025.

Drop-Off Locations
Christmas trees can be dropped off at the following sites during the collection period:

  • Cottonwood Creek Park: 4051 N. Story Road
  • Hunter Ferrell Landfill: 110 E. Hunter Ferrell Road (Hours: 7 a.m.–5:30 p.m., Monday–Saturday; closed on city holidays)
  • Las Colinas Service Center: 5964 Riverside Drive (southern section of the parking lot)
  • Southwest Park: 2800 W. Shady Grove Road

Curbside Pickup Option
Residents can also place fresh-cut trees at the curb for weekly brush and bulky waste collection. However, trees picked up curbside will not be recycled or mulched.

Disposal Guidelines
Residents must remove all decorations, including stands, lights, tinsel, nails, and ornaments, and ensure that trees are not covered in plastic bags before disposal.

Mulch Availability
Trees dropped off at collection sites will be recycled into mulch, which is available for a nominal fee at Hunter Ferrell Landfill.
