Early Saturday morning, January 4, 2025, at approximately 1:55 a.m., Dallas Fire-Rescue and the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a major crash along eastbound CF Hawn Freeway (U.S. Hwy 175) near Bruton Road in South Dallas.
Emergency crews arrived to find a vehicle that had struck a guardrail and rolled approximately 20 feet down an embankment into a creek bed.
Two occupants were trapped inside the vehicle. Firefighters extricated the driver, who was transported to a nearby hospital with undisclosed injuries after being pulled up the embankment using a stokes basket.
The passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
