At its regularly scheduled meeting on December 16, the Irving ISD Board of Trustees approved two key measures that will take effect in the 2025-2026 school year.
The Board approved the 2025-2026 school calendar, which includes the following key dates:
- First Day of School: August 13, 2025 (mid-week start)
- Christmas Break for Students: December 22, 2025 – January 5, 2026
- Spring Break: March 16 – 20, 2026 (to align with Dallas College)
- Last Day of School for Students: May 28, 2026
- No early dismissal days

In addition to the school calendar, the Board approved an adjustment to the school day start and end times for Singley Academy. Beginning in the 2025-2026 school year, Singley Academy's school day will begin at 8:45 AM and end at 4:15 PM. The length of the school day will remain unchanged, and Singley Academy will continue to operate on an eight-period block schedule.
The adjustment aims to align Singley Academy’s schedule with other district high schools, streamlining operations and providing additional instructional time. The change also allows for better alignment of extracurricular activities, including fine arts and athletics.
