An Irving Police officer sustained injuries during the arrest of a suspect at the Red Roof Inn on Saturday, December 14, 2024.
At approximately 3:43 AM, an officer observed a suspicious vehicle, a blue 2017 Cadillac CTS, at the motel located at SH-183 and Esters Rd.
Following a brief investigation, officers approached the vehicle's occupant, identified as 52-year-old Christopher Jerome Johnson of Fresno, TX.
Johnson resisted arrest and became combative, striking an officer during the struggle.
Officers were able to subdue Johnson and take him into custody.
Johnson is facing charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon, Resisting Arrest, and Assaulting a Peace Officer.
The officer suffered a minor injury.
