On Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at approximately 11:00 p.m., Tarrant County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a major accident in the 14000 block of U.S. Highway 287, north of Avondale.
Deputies arrived to find a pickup truck overturned on the highway shoulder. A man was discovered lying near the vehicle, and a woman was located approximately 20 yards away. Both were ejected from the truck and pronounced dead at the scene.
Highway 287 was temporarily shut down as investigators processed evidence and cleared the crash site.
The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Investigations Unit is working to determine the cause of the accident.
