Teresa Gail Gonzales, 66, was found deceased at a Dallas sewage treatment plant, days after she reportedly fell through a hole in a street in northwest Dallas. Her daughter, Cynthia Gonzales, held a press conference Tuesday alongside attorney Ramez Shamieh, seeking accountability for the tragic incident.
The incident occurred on October 22, 2024, between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., in the 1600 block of Record Crossing Road near Riverside Drive . According to Shamieh, Teresa Gonzales fell through gaps in a manhole cover. Her body was discovered three days later at a wastewater plant located over nine miles from the site of the fall.
Cynthia Gonzales stated that she only learned of her mother’s death after a cousin notified her, despite detectives having discovered her mother’s body earlier through 911 calls from alleged witnesses.
“There are gaps in the manhole cover that likely caused her to fall through,” Shamieh said. “I want to see all the responsible parties that could have contributed to this, and the next step is to file a suit.”
