On December 12, 2022, 34-year-old Deybi Jovel Gonzalez was arrested by officers from the Irving Police Department. He faced serious charges, including four counts of Aggravated Kidnapping with a Deadly Weapon, one count of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Escape from Arrest/Confined, and Interfering with an Emergency Request for Assistance.
In April 2023, Gonzalez entered a plea agreement, pleading guilty to the charges against him. As a result, he was sentenced to two years in prison, with his confinement officially beginning on April 5, 2023. Authorities confirmed that Gonzalez is an illegal immigrant.
